Naveira in PracticaX

I'm off to Practica X to see Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne dance. They're supposed to be the best for real, so we'll see just what that means. In the meantime, I hope to dance a bit, and try out some of the stuff I've been working on, both in terms of my position and in terms of hers.

Today in DNI was cool, yesterday was cool too... it's all cool, and I think that estoy empezando a cerrar el cerco (around tango, I suppose).

Hi I was there that night too. Naveria was amazing. I am going back to BsAs in Nov. Do you know the name of the dance studio associated with X practica? Is its Iggys? Have you taken clases there?

best,
Eva

Hi Eva. The guys from PracticaX have their own blog, which is (I think) http://practicax.blogspot.com.

Anyway, this was from several months ago, but I saw Naveira the other week in PracticaX too. Amazing stuff.

I haven't taken any classes with the PracticaX guys. My new digs are 1) Mora Godoy - close to home and an excess of good bailarinas 2) Tango Brujo - still testing it out and 3) DNI, which I always love but it's so DNI.

Thanks Dan!
So would you recommend DNI for non spanish speakers? Are they really that snotty about gringos/gringas crashing their classes?
I am traveling with a friend. We are both intermediate dancers... prefer Salon and Milonguero style but open to learning Nuevo; also want to work on my milonga.
Any suggestions you may have is greatly appreciated.

muchas gracias! ; )
Eva

PS. Are you a permanent resident there?

Hi Eva. Not sure what happened, I missed your message.
1) DNI, like most places, is not snotty about non-English speakers. DNI probably speaks more English than most places because they do have a lot of foreigners.
2) So you probably travelled already.
3) I live here, but I'm not a permanent resident :)

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
